Lebanon NH –  On August 18, 2018, Officers from the Lebanon Police Department stopped a vehicle on Plainfield Rd for motor vehicle violations. The operator, Jennifer Somero, age 27, of Rhode Island, showed signs of impairment. There were open alcoholic beverages and Marijuana in plain view in the vehicle. The passenger was identified as Jeffrey Eastman, age 28, of Claremont, NH. Eastman was highly intoxicated and became belligerent with officers and interfered with the ongoing investigation. When officers attempted to arrest Eastman, he became combative and resisted those efforts. Officers had to utilize pepper spray to take him into custody.

Both Eastman and Somero were transported to the Police Department for processing. Somero was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, a Class B Misdemeanor, Possession of Marijuana, and Open Container, both Violations. Eastman was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Possession of Marijuana, both Violations, and Resisting Arrest, a Class A Misdemeanor. Somero’s bail was set at $1,500 Personal Recognizance and Eastman’s bail was set at $2,000 Personal Recognizance. Both parties were later released with a court date of October 22, 2018 in the New Hampshire 2nd Circuit Court, District Division Lebanon.
