Lebanon NH – On 6/13/18 at approximately 3:40AM the Lebanon Police received an emergency call from a 26-year-old female, who resides on Meriden Road, that her mother’s boyfriend was armed and made threats to shoot her and her mother, along with himself. Further information was obtained that the caller’s mother, a 53-year-old female, had locked herself in the bathroom while the 26-year-old female fled from the home on foot.

While officers were in-route to the call, the female caller advised that a gunshot had been fired outside the home. Upon the officers’ arrival, the 53-year-old female was still inside the home with the 48-year-old male suspect, who was believed to still be armed. Responding officers established a perimeter around the home and made contact with the female victim still inside the residence. A short time later, Kevin R. Hicks, age 48, of Meriden Road in Lebanon, exited the house and was taken into custody without further incident.

Further investigation revealed that Hicks had been drinking and had an argument with his girlfriend. During the argument, Hicks made threats to shoot his girlfriend, his girlfriend’s daughter and himself. During the argument, Hicks’ girlfriend was able to wrestle one handgun away from Hicks but he retrieved a shotgun from inside the home. After the 26-year-old female fled the home, Hicks went outside after her and fired one shotgun round into the air. Neither female victim was injured.

Hicks is charged with Reckless Conduct and Criminal Threatening, both
Class B Felony charges due to the use of a Firearm. Hicks refused the
services of a bail commissioner and was transported to the Grafton County
Jail pending arraignment in the Grafton County Superior Court later today.
