Lebanon, NH: May 29, 2018 At 1213 hours the Lebanon Fire Department was dispatched to an automatic fire alarm at 336 Mechanic Street, Timken Aerospace. On arrival of Lebanon Car 1 at 1219 hours, plant personnel reported a fire on the roof near the rear of the building. The alarm assignment was upgraded to a 1st Alarm bringing off-duty Lebanon personnel and the Hanover and Hartford Fire Departments to the scene.

Upon further investigation personnel found a fire between the roofing materials near an exhaust pipe. The fire was quickly extinguished and personnel performed overhaul operations to ensure that the area was completely extinguished. Plant personnel assisted with securing the propane furnace directly below the burnt area.

The fire was declared under control at 1241 hours and contained to the area around the exhaust pipe and there were no injuries.

The cause of the fire was determined to be a malfunctioning vent pipe and allowed heat to transfer and smolder the wooden roof deck over time.

Lebanon units cleared the scene and turned the property over to Timken representatives at 1313 hours
