MA Man Wanted for VT Homicides Unknowingly Arrested
Springfield MA police unknowingly arrested a Vermont murder suspect on Friday when they took Justin Orwat into custody on unrelated warrants.
Officers arrested 46-year-old Orwat 46 on Friday night for outstanding felony warrants for breaking and entering of a vehicle at night, shoplifting, larceny and various motor vehicle violations.
The Vermont State Police and the Windham County State’s Attorney obtained an arrest warrant for Orwat on Thursday for Aggravated Murder and First Degree Arson. The warrant was the result of an investigation into a Townshend VT house fire on Friday morning, October 27th where Steven Lovely, and Amanda Sanderson, perished.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled both deaths homicide manner of and the cause of death for Lovely and Sanderson was determined to be a gunshot wounds.
Orwat is being held at the Hampden County Correctional Center in Ludlow MA. The warrant issued by Vermont State Police for the murders, orders Orwat to be held without bail.

Naked Man Injured When Breaking Into Residence
A naked man was taken to the hospital after he attempted to enter a Weathersfield VT residence by breaking a window. Vermont State Police said Nicholas Lynched of Springfield VT broke the window on a rear door just after 8:30 PM on Saturday. Lynch was transported to Springfield Hospital for his injuries and given a citation for unlawful mischief and disorderly conduct to appear in Windsor Criminal Court at a later date.

Newport VT Woman Facing Multiple Charges After Speeding Stop
A Newport VT woman was arrested late Sunday morning on multiple charges after she was stopped for speeding on I-91. Vermont State Police said they clocked Jennifer M. Thompson driving 96 in a 65 MPH zone in Dummerston. During the stop and investigation officers, determined Thompson gave another person’s name. A check of Vermont’s DMV records revealed that Thompson had two arrest warrants. Police took Thompson into custody and she was lodged at the Southern State Correction Facility. Thompson was charged with Excessive Speed, False Information to a Law Enforcement Officer – Implication of another, two counts of arrest on warrant for Felony Escape from Custody and Furlough and Return on a Mittimus. Thompson will be arraigned today in Windham Criminal Court to answer the charges.

Newport NH Man Arrested on Fraud/Unfair Business Practice Charge
A Newport NH man was arrested last week on charges of Fraud/Unfair Business Practices. Sunapee Police say they arrested Travis Richardson of Sunapee Street following an investigation of a complaint received last May. Richardson is out on bail pending his arraignment on Dec. 5th in Newport District Court.
