Hartford Officer Lyman to Retire
The public is invited to say goodbye and thanks to Officer Thomas Lyman of the Hartford Police Department. Lyman is retiring from the Hartford Police Department after over 41 years of dedicated service. There will be a reception at the police department at 812 VA Cutoff Road in White River Junction, VT to honor Officer Lyman’s career on July 12th from 1-3PM.

For the first time ever Budweiser is inviting NH fans to raise a cold New Hampshire. Beginning this week 11 states will be featured on Budweiser’s bottles and cans. The state where the beer is brewed will replace the iconic Budweiser name on the beer. Each can sold in New Hampshire will feature New Hampshire on the label and the beer in each New Hampshire can is from the Merrimack Anheuser-Busch brewery. The 10 other states where Budweiser has breweries will also receive their state packaging including California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia. Local fans can experience the brand first-hand at Budweiser’s Merrimack Brewery Open House event on August 12th. For the first time ever, Budweiser is opening its doors at each of its breweries across America, including Merrimack. Consumers can take photos with the world-famous Clydesdales.
Plainfield Man Tasered After Refusing to Leave Restaurant
A Plainfield NH man was tasered by police after he refused to leave a Lebanon restaurant Saturday night. Lebanon Police said intoxicated Joshua O. Goodwin refused to leave the bar area of the restaurant repeatedly by staff and then officers. Police advised Goodwin he was under arrest and tried to take him into custody but Goodwin physically resisted. Officers tasered Goodwin who continued to resist but eventually was taken into custody.
Goodwin was charged with Criminal Trespass and Resisting Arrest. He may also be facing charges of Simple Assault on a Police Officer and Disorderly Conduct. Goodwin was released on $1,500 Personal Recognizance bail. He is scheduled for arraignment on September 11th in Lebanon District Court.
Officer Involved Shooting Under Investigation in Keene
The NH Attorney General’s Office and the NH State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Keene. Officials say the shooting occurred just before 3:00 pm while Keene Police officers were assisting a person leaving a home on Wilford Street. Several officers experienced a confrontation from an adult male who was present. During that confrontation, two officers discharged their weapons and wounded the male. The male was taken to the hospital for his injuries. No one else was injured during the incident.
Lebanon Man Faces Burglary Charge
A Lebanon man was arrested last Thursday for a burglary on Mascoma Street in Lebanon on the same day. Police said they arrested Kevin T. Russell after an investigation for the alleged break-in where $400-500 dollars in cash was taken. The victim told officers he suspected an acquaintance that had recently worked in his home.
Russell was arraigned in Grafton Superior Court where he was later released on $10,000 Personal Recognizance bail.
Newbury NH Firefighter Goes to Fight Colorado Fires
A Newbury NH Fire and Rescue firefighter is on his way to Colorado to fight wildfires. Newbury firefighter, DJ Smith, is a member of a group of 20 New Hampshire firefighters on the way to Colorado to assist western fire crews battling the rash of wildfires in that area.
