Ludlow VT Man Arrested on Multiple Charges
Police arrested a Ludlow VT man on multiple charges Tuesday. Vermont State Police say they were investigating several thefts in the area when they stopped a vehicle stolen from the Town of Putney. After obtaining a search warrant officers recovered items that were stolen. Police arrested the driver, Justin Clouart 35, of Ludlow for refusal, operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, burglary, possession of stolen property, and violation of conditions of release.
On April 13, Police arrested Clouart for Possession of heroin; Impeding, Obstruction of justice, Unlawful mischief, and Violation of conditions of release after seizing his abandon vehicle for drug activity in Brattleboro. Police allege that Clouart later cut a hole in the security fence around the Westminster State Police Barracks and entered the facility to retrieve the heroin from his seized vehicle before Troopers initiated a search warrant.
Clouart was order held without bail at the Southern State Correctional Facility until his arraignment on all of the charges.

Fifteen Dartmouth Students and Alumni Offered Fulbright Scholarships
Fifteen Dartmouth students and alumni have been offered Fulbright scholarships this year. It is the largest class of Dartmouth Fulbrights since 2014.
Sponsored by the U.S. government, the Fulbright Program promotes increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other nations through international educational exchanges in more than 155 countries. Fulbright awards are available for research, graduate study, and teaching English.

No Wake Order for Franklin’s Silver Lake
The New Hampshire State Police – Marine Patrol Bureau have issued a NO WAKE order for all of Silver Lake in the town of Tilton. The order is effective immediately.
The order is in compliance with RSA 270:132 that requires the Division of State Police shall institute a no-wake order encompassing all of Silver Lake whenever the department of Environmental Services’ gauging station on Silver Lake measures 467.0 feet or more above sea level,. The order shall remain in effect until the measure falls below 467.0 feet.
Accidental Shooting in Vernon VT
The Windham VT County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an accidental shooting. Officials say Shawn J. Gailey 20 was shot shortly before 5:00 pm and taken to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital in a private vehicle. Gailey was later transported to DHMC for treatment of gunshot wounds to his right hand and right leg. Based on Mr. Gailey’s statement the incident happened at the boat landing near Vernon Hydroelectric Dam.
