K-9 Dozer Gets Bullet and Stab Proof Vest
Hartford VT Police Department’s K-9 Dozer has received a bullet and stab protective vest from Vested Interest. Judith Douglass of Manchester Center VT sponsored the vest, embroidered with “In Loving Memory of Frankie.”
Dozer is a one and half year old black lab and is certified as part of a drug detection team with his handler Officer Eric Clifford. Currently Dozer is in training to track lost and missing person and will attend a tracking course at the Vermont Police Academy next year. Dozer’s speak command is “America” and loves to show his patriotism by sporting an American flag on his collar. Dozer is probably the most popular police officer in Hartford and the community absolutely loves his goofy, loving personality.
Vested Interest has supplied many of the Upper Valley K-9 Police dogs with armored protection. The 501c charity organization was founded in 2009 and is in East Taunton MA. Grafton VT Man Charged With Killing Puppy
A Grafton VT man was arrested Wednesday for Aggravated Cruelty to Animals and Second Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault. Police say Jonathan Blake caused the couple’s 16-week-old puppy’s death after he kicked the puppy across the floor and caused it to hit a pellet stove. After receiving a report from the victim Vermont State Police arrived at Blake’s home and found him digging a grave for Shadow the puppy. Although there was no physical assault, Blake caused the victim fear of bodily injury due to his 2013 conviction of domestic assault. Blake was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility for lack of $5,000 cash bail. A small amount of marijuana belonging to Blake was seized at the scene and he was issued a civil ticket for possession of marijuana. Blake will appear in Windham Superior Court-Criminal Division today (Thursday) at 1230 hours for arraignment on the charges.
Meeting for Piermont NH Proposed Bridge Rehabilitation
The NH DOT is holding an informational meeting to discuss proposed bridge rehabilitation on work on the Route 25 bridge over the Connecticut River between Piermont NH and Bradford VT. This work will require a full closure of the bridge for up to 19 days, as well as six weeks of one-lane of alternating two-way traffic. This public meeting will be held as part of the regularly scheduled Piermont Selectmen’s Meeting on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at 7:00 pm at the Old Church Building on Route 10 in Piermont NH.
Petition Will Not Help Expelled Dartmouth Students
According to The Dartmouth the online petition created by Sebastian Lim and Daniel Ro will not play a role in their disciplinary process according to College spokesperson Diana Lawrence. Lim and Ro admitted to causing the Oct. 1 fire in Morton Hall in an online petition on the Care2 petition site.
In the letter, titled “Change Our Lives,” Ro and Lim apologized for their actions and asked people to sign the petition in support as the two have been expelled from the College for posing “a threat to the community at large.”Morton Hall is currently uninhabitable as a result of extensive smoke and water damage caused by the fire.
