On Monday October 24, 2016 at approximately 3:00 PM Conservation Officers from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department were notified of an injured hiker on Mount Cube in Orford. Crews from Orford, Lyme, Rumney, Wentworth, and Thetfort VT Fire Departments as well as volunteers from the Pemi Valley Search and Rescue Team and the Upper Valley Wilderness Response Team and Conservation Officers from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department responded to the trail. Crews arrived back at the Rivendell Trailhead with the injured hiker at approximately 9:00 PM.
The injured hiker is identified as 34 year old Molly Soloway of Orford NH. She had been hiking with her canine companion and after summiting Mount Cube and starting her descent she suffered a lower leg injury which didn’t allow for her to put any weight on the injured leg necessitating a carry out.
