Armed Robbery in Springfield VT
Springfield VT Police are seeking information on a man who robbed the Windsor County South Credit Union. Police say shortly after noon on Tuesday a suspect pointed a gun at the teller and demanded money. The man was given an undisclosed amount of money and then ran out the door, taking a vehicle that belonged to an employee. The stolen light green vehicle was later found on Plains Road in Weathersfield, VT abandoned. A canine officer from the Vermont State Police responded to the scene but the suspect was not located.
The suspect is a white male subject, of average build, approximately 5’9″, approximately 180-190 pounds, wearing gloves, a dark face mask, hat, and dark colored sweatshirt.

Grantham Crash Closes I-89
A collision involving a commercial truck on I-89 in Grantham just after 11:00 am yesterday had the road closed for several hours. Police say a white Hino Flatbed transporting lumber and scaffoldings crashed into the guard rail on I-89 causing obstruction of travel in both lanes.
The driver 28-year-old Eric Dechellis of Manchester was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
An investigation showed that Dechellis fell asleep while driving to Burlington VT for New England Scaffolding Services in Bow NH. No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Homicide in Wardsboro VT
Vermont State Police are investigating a Wardsboro’s homicide that happened before 4:45 pm on Tuesday. Police say Kirby Staib 42 was found deceased outside a Gilfeather Road residence. An autopsy is being performed to determine the cause and manner Staib’s death. Police took Kevin Parker 57 into custody. Both men are from Wardsboro.
No other suspects are being sought in this incident, and there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public.
The Vermont State Police Major Crime Unit along with Troop D BCI detectives continue to investigate this incident.

The Hartford Police Department is currently investigating a vandalism that occurred at Dothan Brook Elementary School between 8 p.m. on 10/17/2016 and 5 a.m. on 10/18/2016. Vandals used spray paint on the building and wrote AmeriKKKan’s for Trump. Claremont Imposes Voluntary Water Restrictions
Claremont imposes voluntary water use restrictions. Due to continuing drought conditions, the City of Claremont is asking for immediate voluntary water conservation.
Customers of the city’s water system are advised to refrain from watering grass, washing cars or paved/concrete surfaces, filling pools, and all other non-essential water use. Currently, the city has an adequate amount of storage; however, the water department is trying to be pro-active due to the projected dry forecast for the next three months. There may be additional restrictions if conditions persist.
This voluntary water restriction notice will remain in effect until further notice.
