Lebanon Heroin Arrests
Two local men will appear in Lebanon district court today to face various drug charges. Lebanon Police arrested Brock Richardson 30 years old of Enfield New Hampshire for 2 counts of Heroin Possession with intent to sell and Caleb Dumont-Willey 21 of Lebanon for possession of heroin.
The arrests stem from a 911 call to a Perley Ave residence on Saturday night for a drug overdose. Police officers and members of the fire department revived a 32-year-old male through CPR and Narcan.
An investigation led to the arrest of Richardson for selling heroin marked Game of Thrones to the victim. Police also discovered Richardson also sold heroin to of Dumont Willie.
Lebanon Police say heroin is always potentially lethal but this particular batch led to an overdose and near death and appears to have a high potency level.
Popular Springfield VT Swimming Area Closed
All swimming areas at North Springfield Lake and Stoughton Pond Recreation Area are closed until further notice. The Army Corp of Engineers closed the area on Friday due to Cyanobacteria and will tested weekly Call the North Springfield Lake Project Office at (802) 886-2775 with any questions or concerns.
VSP Cruisers Crash on I-91
Hydroplaning was the cause of a crash of Vermont State Trooper Cruisers on Saturday night. Police say the officers were responding were responding to a call when each vehicle traveled on to a flooded bridge near mile marker 21 on Interstate 91 in the town of Westminster. The troopers were unable to regain control of the cruisers before they struck and came to a final rest in the southbound shoulder.
Both troopers were taken to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital and released with minor injuries.
The cruisers sustained damages and I 91 southbound lanes were closed for a period of time to clear up the crash and divert the water.
