A fiery crash on I-91 just before 1:30 am on Monday is under investigation, Police say a green 2000 Volkswagen Passat was traveling north just past the towns of White River Junction when the driver lost control. The car exited the east side of the road and began to roll then burst into flames when it came to rest. All three occupants were able to get out of the vehicle but did receive injuries. Michael Alger27 of North Haverhill NH had non-life threatening injuries, John Wilmot 26, of Woodsville NH had injuries to the arm and head, and Jonathan Ruggles 24, of North Haverhill received lacerations and bruising. All were brought to DHMC.
It is unknown at this time that was driving the car and police are asking for witnesses. Anyone who saw the crash or the green Volkswagen between 1:00AM and 1:30Am on Interstate 89 north between Lebanon, NH to White River Junction, VT or on Interstate 91 north between White River Junction and Norwich, VT is asked to contact Trooper Pregent at the Royalton State Police Barracks 802-234-9933 between 5:00 pm and 2:00 am.
