Dartmouth Professor Sentenced for Child Porn
A Dartmouth English and African Studies Professor was sentenced to 66 months in federal prison on Monday for child pornography. John Martin Favor 49, of Plainfield was arrested after Federal authorities determined in May of 2015 that someone was uploading child pornography images from Favor’s Plainfield home.
Favor pled guilty to the charges this past April. Over 500 videos and 300 still images – was located on the defendant’s personal electronic devices, and the defendant confessed to law enforcement that he had been viewing child pornography for close to fifteen year.
The investigation was a collaborative effort between federal, state, and local authorities, which included Homeland Security Investigations Manchester, the New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the Police Departments of Hinsdale, Hampton, Plainfield, Rochester, and Portsmouth, New Hampshire, as well as the New Hampshire State Police.
Hanover Road Closure
Ruddsboro Road will be closed between Old Dana Road and Three Mile Road in Hanover for about 3-4 weeks for bridge replacement. A notification will be sent out when this section of road re-opens.
Lebanon Officer Stuck with Dirty Needle
A Lebanon Police Officer was stuck with a dirty needle on Friday morning while assisting Hanover PD with a traffic stop. Police say the officer was searching the vehicle’s center console when he was stuck with a used, dirty, uncapped hypodermic needle.
The Lebanon officer was treated at DHMC and released. The Hanover Police Department did make an arrest of two individuals in this case. The Lebanon Police Department reminds everyone that the ongoing drug epidemic knows no boundaries and is dangerous and life threatening in more ways than one. Please make sure that used needles are disposed of properly, a free hypodermic needle disposal box is located in the Lebanon police station lobby and is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the anonymous disposal of needles.
