Bicyclists Find Deceased Man in Enfield
Two bicyclists on Rte 4-A in Enfield on Thursday evening discovered a deceased man along the roadside. According to Police Chief Richard Crate Jr., the bicyclists were on their way home from work when they found a body of the man south of the salvage yard. The man appeared to be in his 50’s and cause of death is unknown at this time, but he was known to have some medical problems. Chief Crate said no foul play is suspected and family members are being notified. An autopsy is expected to determine the cause of death.
Turning Points Reaches Goal Early
Turning Points Network announced on Thursday that they met their fundraising goal of $100,000. The funds were raised from their 10th Annual Steppin’ Up to End Violence 5K Walk and Fun Run. Upon returning from the walk/run, participants heard the announcement that they had helped raise over $96,500. Since then, additional contributions were made and on May 18, less than 3 weeks after the event.

Springfield VT Woman Charged with Unlawful Trespass
A Springfield VT Woman was arrested for Unlawful Trespass and Unlawful Mischief on Tuesday. Springfield Police say they went to 116 Main St after receiving a report of a woman breaking the front window of the residence.
Heather Byrne, 47, was taken into custody without incident for allegedly breaking into an apartment without authorization. Ms Byrne was held in custody until she was sober.
Man Dies After Crashing Into Amusement Ride
Shortly after 7:00 am on Thursday, a 2015 Jeep Wrangler crashed into a carnival ride in Randolph VT. Vermont State Police David Miles, 56, had a medical emergency before crashing into the Carnival Ride near Our Lady of Angels Church. Several witnesses assisted with medical care on scene until White River Valley Ambulance arrived. In addition, several members of the Milton Police Department and Orange County Sheriff’s Department were training in the area and assisted in medical care before Miles was transported to Gifford Medical Center. Miles passed away at Gifford Medical Center a short time after the crash. Operators of the carnival have removed the ride damaged in the crash
