Late on Saturday afternoon a witness contacted local police reporting he believes he saw Francois Carrier 47 of Drummondville, Quebec late Monday night or early Tuesday morning on route 2 in Gorham New Hampshire with a duffle bag. A conservation officer met with the witness and interviewed him and had him confirm through the use of a photo that the man he saw matched the description of Carrier. The witness was confident that the man he saw was Carrier.
The search in and around Pinkham Notch has been suspended by New Hampshire Fish and Game. Before the witness came forward, K-9 teams from New England K-9, conservation officers, volunteers, and Forest Service LEO’s spent the day searching in and around Pinkham for any signs of the missing man. A K-9 team located Carrier’s back pack that is believed he lost on Sunday while hiking up the auto road. “We have covered everything very thoroughly and didn’t know where to search next,” said Lt. Mr. Carrier has been added to the national data base for missing persons. If anyone has any additional information regarding his location please contact State Police Troop F at 603-846-3333.
