Plane Crash in Warner NH
A small plane crashed in Warner just about 8:30 pm on Sunday. The American Champion Aircraft plane with two people on board crash in the area of Harriman Chandler state forest Warner NH. First responders from Warner, Hopkinton, and Bradford made their way to the scene. Crews called for a UTV from Henniker NH Fire Department for the terrain. More mutual aid was called for assistance for the carry out. Two people were transported to the hospital. The FAA is investigating the crash.
Malden MA Man Clocked at 117 MPH
A Malden MA man was arrested for Reckless Operation shortly before 6:30 pm on Sunday. Troopers from Troop C in Keene clocked 30-year-old Sachin Rajan at 117 mph on I-89 in Sunapee. Rajan is scheduled for arraignment on July 12 in Newport District Court.
Chicken Farmer Movie Shown to Full House
The Chicken Farmer movie was shown to a full house on Friday evening. Area residents packed the Library Arts Center to see the story behind the legendary “I Still Love You Chicken Farmer Rock” on Route 103 in Newbury.
Natalie Phillips wrote the screenplay from a short story written by Danielle MacConnell who graduated from Newport Middle High School. MacConnell’s grandparents, The LaPortes live on Lake Sunapee in Newbury and she grew up hearing stories about the rock that was featured in “Chicken Soup for the Lover’s Soul.”
Danielle said she was please with the community liked their version.
Natalie Phillips said the reception of the film exceeded her expectations.
The Chicken Farmer was made as Natalie’s graduate project at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, NJ. Because of copyright agreements with the Dickerson and music used in the film, there are no CD’s available. It will be shown at small film festival throughout the US.
South Danbury Fire Under Investigation
A fire in South Danbury is under investigation. Danbury fire officials say they were notified of a building fire on Rte.4 just after 8:30 am on Saturday. Upon arrival, the alarm immediately went to a two alarm.
Fire fighters quickly contained the blaze and knocked it down. No one was injured in the fire but Route 4 was closed for some time while the crews battled the fire.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and is currently under investigation by the NH State Fire Marshall, Danbury Police, New Hampshire State Police, and the Danbury Fire Department.
