Claremont Woman Charged in Fatal Accident
A Claremont woman is charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and Negligent Homicide after a fatal accident in Claremont on Saturday afternoon. Police say Amber King 36 was driving eastbound on Main Street when she lost control of her 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and caused it to overturn several times before resting on its roof. A32-year-old female passenger was ejected and landed in the Sugar River and three others were trapped in the Jeep. The Three occupants had to be cut from the vehicle. The 32-year female who was thrown from the vehicle was pronounced dead by the NH State Medical Examiner’s office at Valley Regional. Two passengers who suffered serious injuries were transferred to D.H.M.C. from Valley Regional. Amber King also suffered serious injuries The names of the decedent and passengers are being withheld pending next of kin notifications. . Stoddard Firefighter Charged with Arson
A Stoddard Volunteer Firefighter will be arraigned on Arson this afternoon for allegedly starting the 200 plush acre brush fire in Stoddard last week. Police say the arrest of David Plante 31, stems from a joint investigation into the forest fires.
Investigators do not believe any others were involved but additional charges maybe forth coming for Plante. Plante is being held at the Cheshire County House of Corrections without bail until his arraignment. His arraignment is slated for 1:30 pm today in Cheshire Superior Court in Keene.
Law enforcement officials have asked anyone with information regarding the Stoddard forest fires to call New Hampshire State Police Headquarters at 271-3636.
VSP Investigate Westminster Burglary
Vermont State Police are investigating a burglary at the residence of Travis Cook on RT 5 in Westminster. The burglary occurred between 4/15/16 and 4/24/16 the house was unoccupied at the time of the burglary. Taken was a large plasma flat screen TV, a Play station 4 and misc. games. The Sunapee Water Department will be flushing hydrants beginning today (Monday) in Georges Mills and ending on April 29 in Sunapee between the hours of 7:00 pm-3:30 am.
