VSP Seek Help In Camper ID
The Vermont State Police is asking the public’s assistance in identifying an abandoned truck camper. Police say they discovered the abandoned camper in a pull off on Route 100 South in Jamaica VT last Thursday. Attempts to find and/or identify the owner have been unsuccessful.

Bradford VT Man Charged with Domestic Assault
A Bradford VT man was charged with Domestic Assault and Violation of Condition. State Police say on Sunday they were dispatched to a report of a family fight at a Waits River Road residence in Bradford. Alan Charland 49 allegedly assaulted a household member and police took him into custody. Charland was due for arraignment on Monday.
Northfield NH Man Charged wit Sale of Methamphetamine
A Northfield NH man has been charged with the sale of Methamphetamine. Tilton police say James Zanni 20 of Elm Street in NH was charged on Monday after a drug investigation Zanni is currently being held at the Carrol County House of Corrections on unrelated charges.
New Tradition for Newport
Newport began a new tradition on Monday with a presentation of the Newport Service Award. The award went to Newport Police Department Captain Robert Ballou for having worked for Newport the longest of any employee.
The Plaque graces an original Elm bowl created by artist Bruce W. Burroughs made from one of the oldest trees in Newport and its last Elm. The tree was 190 years old when it was cut down for safety reasons and Bruce W. Burroughs was given some of its wood.
Town Manager O’Keefe presented the handcrafted bowl to Captain Ballou and sited the Captain’s employment in Newport first starting at the recreation department and then a police dispatcher in 1976.
O’Keefe added “In a day and age where franchise players seldom exist and few employees remain with one employer for their career Captain Bob Ballou is the standard by which all other careers at the Newport Police Department will be measured.
Man Arrested for Felonious Sexual Assault on a Child
Police arrested a Claremont man Friday night for Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault and indecent Exposure and Lewdness. Police say the NH State Police arrested Travis Bunnell on a warrant issued by the Claremont Police. Claremont police say the warrant was issued after an investigation into an alleged sexual assault incidence, and that the child knew Bunnell. The investigation into this incident is ongoing. Travis Bunnell was taken into custody without incident in Georges Mills. Bunnell was processed at the Claremont Police Department and held at the Sullivan County Department of Corrections.
