On April 4, 2016, the Lebanon Police Detectives Division investigated an online advertisement in Lebanon of a male subject who was offering money for sexual contact. The advertisement was posted on the website http://www.craigslist.com. Lebanon Detectives responded to the advertisement and arranged to meet the man at a local restaurant in the City. Prior to meeting, the male subject offered $75 for sexual intercourse. Robert B. Armstrong, age 48, of Lebanon, New Hampshire was subsequently arrested at approximately 6:00PM and charged with Solicitation of Prostitution, a Class B Misdemeanor. He was processed at the Lebanon Police Department and released on personal recognizance bail with a Lebanon District Division, New Hampshire Second Circuit Court date of May 23, 2016.
The Lebanon Police Department continues to monitor possible crimes being committed via the internet. Prostitution related offenses, although seemingly a victimless crime, can often involve Human Trafficking of both adults and children. Our efforts in this area will continue.
