Upper Valley Aquatic Center Expanding
upper valley aquaticThe Upper Valley Aquatic Center is expanding. This summer the facility starts a $3 million renovation project. The Aquatic Center is adding 8,000 square feet for a larger locker room, group exercise studio and physical therapy center. The additions will feature natural light, open views and a fitness mezzanine that overlooks the fitness floor.
The expansion is due to the growth of the center’s membership base, increased day pass use from the community and an increase in the number of families using the center.

Westminster VT Man Pleads Guilty to Child Porn
A Westminster Vermont volunteer fire fighter was sentenced for Possession of Child Porn on Thursday. Matthew Cook pled guilty to one felony count and 3 misdemeanor counts of Possession of Child Pornography in Windham Vermont Superior Court. Cook who was arrested on the charges in May 2015 received a 3 to 10 years suspended sentence, and placed on probation for 10 years. Cook is also subject to special conditions of probation designed for sex offenders that require him to successfully complete sex offender treatment and limit his access to the internet and to children under the age of 16 while on probation. Mr. Cook will also be required to register as a sex offender. Cook was arrested after an investigation by the Burlington Police Department, the Vermont Attorney General’s Office, the Vermont State Police, and Vermont’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force

CT Man Charged with DUI and Cruelty to Child
A Fairfield CT man was charged with DUI and Cruelty to a Child on Saturday night. Police say they stopped 53-year-old David Besterfield on Rte 103 in Ludlow shortly after 10:30 pm on Saturday and discovered he was under the influence of alcohol. Besterfield’s 8-year old son and 7-year old daughter were passengers in his vehicle. Police arrested Besterfield who was released on a criminal citation to appear in Windsor Superior Court on March 29, to answer the charges.

NH State Troopers Aid Super Heroes
We all know that Super Heroes help law enforcement and they often save the day. However, on Sunday it was State Trooper M.Suttmeir who saved the day for Captain America and Wonder Woman. The duo was on their way to child’s birthday party on Sunday when their vehicle broke down on I-93 in Bow. Trooper Suttmeir came to their aid and delivered the super heroes on time to the event.

Greenville NH Man Charged with Arson
A Greenville NH man was arrested for arson for a fire on Saturday. Fire Officials say James Reardon, age 20 of 55 Adams Ave in Greenville was arrested for a fire that destroyed Reardon’s home. The NH State Fire Marshall Office, Greenville Fire Department and the Greenville Police Department investigated the fire that started shortly after 11:00 pm on Saturday. Reardon is currently being held without bail at the Hillsborough County jail and will have a court hearing Monday March 14, 2016 in 8th Circuit Court in Jaffrey.
