Lebanon Officers responded to Walmart on Tuesday for a report of an uncooperative shoplifter. Upon arrival,officers located Ashley McKinney, age 30, of Lebanon, New Hampshire being detained by Loss Prevention employees. Investigation determined that McKinney had entered Walmart, selected an entertainment center and attempted to leave the store without paying for the item.
She was met by Loss Prevention employees outside the store and asked to return with them back into the store. She refused and while they were speaking with her, she struck one of the employees in an attempt to get away. They were able to detain McKinney until the arrival of Lebanon Police. The Walmart employee did not suffer any injuries in the assault.
McKinney was arrested and is charged with Robbery, a Class B Felony. She was released by a bail commissioner on $2,500 personal recognizance with a court date of May 9, 2016 at the Lebanon District Division, New Hampshire Second Circuit Court.
