Lebanon Man Arrested After Accident in VT
A Lebanon NH man is facing multiple charges after a traffic accident in St. Johnsbury VT on Friday. Vermont State Police say William Howell 46, was under the influence of intoxicants when he crashed into multiple sections of guardrails on Rt. 5 and went down an embankment. Police discovered Howell’s license was under criminal suspension. Howell also had reported the crashed vehicle stolen in Lake City Florida, and had an arrest warrant for him in VT.
Howell refused to provide a preliminary sample of his breath. He was lodged at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 bail on the arrest warrant and the other offences.
Springfield VT Moves Date for Winter Carnival
Lack of snow and cold weather has force Springfield VT to move the dates for its Winter Carnival.
The event was slated for Feb. 5, 6, and 7, but will now be Feb. 19, 20, and 21. Fireworks will be held on 7:30 pm on Feb. 20.
Westminster Man Arrested For Grow Lab
Vermont State Police seized 181 marijuana plants, 1 and ¾ lbs of processed marijuana, and $30,000 in cash at a Beechnut Hill Lane residence on Saturday. Police say an anonymous tip lead them to Anthony Bugatch’s home where they found the marijuana and cash. Bugatch was arrested for Cultivation and Possession of Marijuana and cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windham County Criminal Division on March 8, 2016.
