A man was rescued after being in the woods off I-89 in Lebanon for nine hours following a car accident. Lebanon Fire Department Chief Chris Christopoulos said his department received a call from NH State Police just after 3:30 on Saturday morning to evaluate the subject who was in the woods between exits 16 and 17 southbound.
Upon arrival of Lebanon Ambulance 1, Captain Chris Simon determined that due to the large embankment and heavy flow in a stream below, that technical rescue resources would be needed to extricate the patient. Hanover and Lebanon Fire units were released from the fire scene on Hanover Street Extension to assist with the call. Upon arrival, the decision was made to utilize the Hanover Tower Ladder to remove the patient from the woods. The patient was removed and transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.
