Drugs Top All Stories in 2015
Once again, heroin and drugs were the top stories on WNTK and WUVR. Most everyone has a friend, acquaintance, or a relative affected by this disease. We hope that next year this will change and we can report that the problem is subsiding. However, there were many other daily stories that touched our communities. Newport and Lebanon each welcomed a New Town Manager this year and Claremont’s Town Manager Guy Santagate announced he was retiring in December of 2016.
Kathy Sullivan of Lost my Way Animal Shelter took in a pit bull found emaciated in Claremont. The story and recovery of Hope moved the good people of our community to reach out with donations and love.
Presidential Candidates have been throughout our area this will continue into the New Year.
Our communities are concerned with how they deliver education. Vermont working to consolidate districts and area school districts in NH are looking to break apart.
Some of our more lighthearted stories were, Claremont’s 1st Night2016 Celebration, the premier of the Undie Run at New London’s Winter Carnival, Newport’s Cathy Merrill winning the Armed Wrestling Championship, Unveiling of a Time Capsule in Lebanon, and Enfield Police give $100.00 bills instead of tickets.
The New Year is full of untold stories. If you know of a news events please contact us. We welcome tips, stories and photos.
