Sunapee has a new police officer. Officer Robert Riessle was sworn in at Monday night’s Select Board meeting. Chief David Cahill said that although police departments throughout the country are having a trouble finding recruits for one reason or another, Officer Robert Riessle was an easy find. Riessle was a Lieutenant- EMT-1 with the Sunapee Fire Department and will attend the Police Academy in January. Chief Cahill says Riessle is a good community member.
Officer Rob Riessle is replacing Officer Adam Lantiegne who has been with the department for 5 years. Officer Lantiegne will be joining a family business and his last day with Sunapee Police is December 31, 2015.
Sunapee to Host Exercise Boot Camp
Are you ready for some early morning exercises? Sunapee Recreation is offering an adult AM Boot camp exercise class. Classes start Nov 10 and run from 5:30-6:30am on Tuesday and Thursdays at the Shelburne Gym on Route 11 in Sunapee. Mindy Flater a boot camp exercise enthusiast turned instructor will lead the classes and looks forward to building a healthy community.

Details Announced on Moving Dartmouth Forward
Dartmouth College announced details of “Moving Dartmouth Forward” residential communities on Monday. Six new residential communities based in current residence halls will start housing students next fall. .
College President Phil Hanlon’s “Moving Dartmouth Forward” and the creation of residential communities was announced as part of policy initiative this past January. This fall a student advisory committee was formed and three working groups of students, staff and house professors were formed to contribute to the residential community plan. Houses will each have programming budgets as well, for events from field trips, social gatherings and performances to service, house dinners and athletics, according to the press release.
New Executive VP at Claremont Savings Bank
Claremont Savings Bank announced the hiring of David A Birkins as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Birkins will oversee bank operations and report to President and CEO Sherwood Moody.
