WRJ Woman Charged with Felony Theft
McClayA White River VT woman was arrested for Felony Theft. Claremont Police allege that Samantha McClay 26 is responsible for a large theft at Hubert’s Family Outfitters in Claremont last July. Police learned during the investigation that an employee took money from the business several times.
Claremont Police with the cooperation of the Lebanon Police Department arrested McClay on Tuesday for the crime. McClay was released on bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on December 28, 2015 in the 5th Circuit Court-Claremont District.

Rte 4 Lebanon-Hartford Bridge to Open Early Nov.
Travelers can look forward to the Route 4 Bridge connecting Lebanon NH and Hartford VT to open in early November. Jeff Potter with the Construction Bureau of the New Hampshire Transportation Department says an exact date of opening is dependent on weather and a tight construction schedule.

Last Chance to Change Party Affiliation
Friday, Oct 30 is the last chance for NH voters to change their party affiliations to vote in the NH primary. Supervisors of the Checklist are holding sessions throughout NH communities from 7:00-7:30 pm, for additions and corrections. Please check with your local town or city offices to check on where they are meeting. New voters can register on primary day.

Franklin Police Seek Brass Golfer
Franklin police are seeking information on the whereabouts of a brass golfer weather vane. The $350 weather vane was taken from the top of the gazebo at Mojalaki Country Club. If anyone has any information please call the Franklin Police Department at 603-934-2535

Transformer Fire in Claremont
Claremont residents in the Monarch Lane area were without electricity for over 4 hours. Eversource said the outage was due to a transformer fire and replaced it. No injuries or property occurred.

Weathersfield Police Warn of Sickly Animal
Weathersfield VT Police Department is asking residents not to approach wild animals that appear sick. Police say they had two separate calls on two sickly foxes on Route 106 in Perkinsville. Both animals were euthanized. If anyone sees a wild animal that appears ill, contact the Weathersfield Police Department at 802-674-2185.

Springfield VT Man Arrested For Aggravated Assault
A Springfield VT man was arrested on Second Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault and Violation of Conditions of Release charges. Police say Robert Smart 53, allegedly assaulted someone he was prohibited from having contact with by court order. Smart was lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility (SSCF) in lieu of $5000 bail and was arraigned on Monday and remanded back to SSCF.
