Croydon Prepares Plan for SAU Split
croydon village schoolThe Croydon SAU Withdraw Committee met on Tuesday night to approve their plan to present to Croydon residents. Jim Peschke withdraw committee member says he expects Croydon to have a substantial savings.
Currently Newport pays 90 percent of the SAU cost with Croydon paying 10 percent for SAU services including special education administration. According to Newport’s own report, Newport receives over 96 percent of those administration services. Also included in the savings is a change on how Croydon is charged, since according to NH RSAs Croydon’s 10 percent is unlawful. Under the formula provided in the Statutes, Croydon’s new percentage would be over 13 percent.
Peschke said the public hearing for presenting the withdraw plan is on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
Copies of the plan will be available on the SAU#43 website, the Coniston Store, and Croydon Town Offices.
