A Springfield Vermont man was airlifted to DHMC after a two-car collision in Bethel Vermont Saturday just before 12:30 PM. Police say, Miles Fleming 24, was traveling east on Route 107 in a 1996 Ford Ranger, when he hit a 1993 Honda Accord driven by Joshua Cameron, 28, of Georgia, Vermont. Cameron had been traveling east on 107 and made a left turn onto Route 12 S. when the accident occurred. The front of Flemings truck collided with the passenger side of Cameron’s car. The collision caused extensive damage to both vehicles. Cameron was transported to Gifford medical center and Fleming was airlifted to DHMC. The crash is still under investigation. Bethel Fire along with White River Valley Ambulance, Vermont State Police, and South Royalton Rescue responded to the scene.
Cornish Police, Cornish Fire, Cornish Rescue, NH State Police, Golden Cross Ambulance and SG Reed Towing responded to a serious MV Accident on RT 120 near Childs Cemetery at about 3:30 pm on Friday. Police say this was the second accident on Friday and the third for the week. There no serious injuries, however serious damages done was sustained to four vehicles and the State of NH guardrails
Former New Hampshire Gov. and White House chief of staff, John H. Sununu will be at Colby Sawyer College on Thursday, October 8. Sununu will be interviewed by Talmage Boston Esq. in the Archives Reading Room at the Susan Colgate Cleveland Library Learning Center to discuss his book The Quiet Man –The Indispensable Presidency of George H. W Bush.

A juvenile sent Vermont and New Hampshire Police on a chase through several towns shortly before 9 PM on Friday. Vermont State Police say, while on 114 in Royalton with their emergency lights on they noticed a car driving erratically and not allowing them to pass. Royalton and Vermont State Police began a pursuit, after learning the 2007 Chevy Cobalt was stolen from Morrisville Vermont earlier that day. The vehicle spun out but the operator gains control and continue to I 89 S.
The pursuit continued into West Lebanon New Hampshire where Lebanon police became involved in the chase through several parking lots. The juvenile crashed the Chevy Cobalt into a fence and when police tried to box in the vehicle he rammed the Lebanon and Royalton Police cruisers. The juvenile operator was taken into custody by the Lebanon police department.
A hiker who was lost in the Turnpike guile Mountain area outside of Norwich VT, Saturday evening was found safe. The hiker was walked out of the woods by the Norwich fire Department. Hanover Fire Department, Norwich Police Department and a Vermont K-9 unit assisted Norwich Fire Department with the search.
Victor M. Castro 44, of Holyoke, Massachusetts, was arrested in Springfield Vermont last Wednesday for trafficking heroin. Springfield police say they were assisting the FBI in executing a federal arrest warrant. During the search, it is alleged that Victor M Castro was in possession of approximately 5.5 g of heroin, packaged for sale in 174 individual bags. Castro was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility on $500,000 bail.
The City of Lebanon will be flushing water mains (weather permitting) through hydrants to maintain water quality in the distribution system beginning Monday, October 5th between the hours of 7AM to 3PM. Residents and businesses in the general area of the following streets should check their water before using. If the water is discolored or dirty, let the cold-water taps run for a few minutes and the water should clear up.
