VT Woman Arrested on 11 Year old Warrant
A VT woman with an 11-year-old warrant from Rutland County was arrested on Monday. Weathersfield Police say while investigating another incident they learned that Daia Gouge was wanted on the outstanding warrant. Gouge was transported to the Southern State Correctional Facility in Windsor pending a court date in Rutland.
More Paving in Lebanon
More paving work is scheduled for Lebanon. On Wednesday, roadway paving and repairs along US 4 Miracle Mile will start. The work is expected to be completed by Monday, September 28. McGoodwin to Testify Supporting Background Check Bill
SAU 6 Superintendent Middleton McGoodwin will testify in favor of the amended bill HB 346. The Bill calls for changes in how criminal background checks are done for school employees and volunteers and is sponsored by Claremont representatives, O’Hearne, Gagnon, Cloutier, and Converse. The major change in the law would call for a release of the criminal history records check to go the school administrative unit. In addition, it calls for all volunteers to have a background check. Messier Enters Mayoral Race
Another Claremont City Council member has registered for a run as Mayor, in the Nov. 3, Municipal Election. Councilwoman Kyle Messier joins fellow Councilwoman Charlene Lovett in the mayoral race. Nick Koloski also registered on Monday for At Large Councilor. Claremont residents have through Sept 29 to register for offices.
VT Man and Two Juveniles Charged in Burglaries
A 19-year-old Vermont man and two juveniles were arrested on Sunday on multiple charges. Police executed three search warrants after burglary investigations in Brookline and Dummerston. Police say Jack Baker a resident of Dummerston was charge with multiple counts of burglary, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
The two juveniles from Brookline were charged with for Burglary and Possession of Stolen Property. The investigation is ongoing investigation but eight residential
Burglaries were solved and dozens of stolen items were recovered.
