Croydon Select Board Receive Cease and Desist From AG’s Office
croydon autumnThe Croydon Selectboard received a cease and desist letter from the NH Attorney General Office for the Town to stop making tuition payments to private schools. Chair of Select Board Steve Cunningham said the town received the page letter on Thursday and it appears the letter is asking the Town of Croydon to send tuition payments directly to SAU 43. Cunningham said the Select Board was asked to make the checks out to the Croydon School District.
Cunningham added that the School District that is in charge of spending the money.
The letter gives Croydon 20 days to send monies raised for public education to SAU#43.
The Croydon School District has been making tuition payments to public and private schools for students this year, after SAU 43 Superintendent Cindy Gallagher said she would not issue tuition payments to the private schools for Croydon. The Select Board will meet on September 22, 2015 at 7:00 pm in the selectman’s office to discuss this issue.

DOT to Night Pave Ramps in Grantham and New London
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announced that night paving is planned on Interstate 89 ramps in New London and Grantham.
This night paving will be on ramps Exit 12A in New London and Exit 13 in Grantham and Rest Area ramps. The work will take place between Monday, September 14, and Friday, September 18, from 8:00 pm until 5:00 am each night.
Only one ramp will be closed at night, so traffic will be detoured to the next exit to turnaround. Motorists are advised to read the message boards in the project area for more information.

Trump NH Meets in Claremont
About 30 people attended the Trump NH event at the Imperial Restaurant in Claremont last night. The meeting was for Trump supporters to get organization working towards getting Trump elected in the NH Primary. People were asked to sign up for phone banks, give endorsements, give out yard signs and bumper stickers, take people to the polls and other tasks needed in an election. Cheryl Jones of Claremont a self-declared independent said she originally was for Hillary, but something changed her mind.
Jones wears a Trump shirt and talks to anyone who will listen why she is voting for him. Trump NH will also be hosting a debate party at the Imperial on September 16, at 8:00 pm all are welcome to attend.
