Shaker Field Dog Parks Opens
Build it and they will come and come they did. About 100 people and their dogs attended the Shaker Valley Field Dog Park’s official leash cutting ceremony and grand opening yesterday. The park has separate dog parks one for dogs 30 pounds and under, another for dogs 30 pounds and over, and another one that is a training park. It was two years ago, the Marcia Herrin and Larissa Pyer came up with the idea and asked people to vote for an Enfield Dog Park, Pyer said they won $25,000.
In addition, the park received a matching grant from The Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation out of Hanover.
Pyer was thrilled with the turn out for the park’s opening day even though she nervous about scuffles.
The Shaker Field Dog Park is located at 535 Rte 4-A in Enfield.
Claremont Woman Indicted By Two Grand Juries
A Claremont woman who was indicted by a Sullivan County Grand Jury on two felony sales of crack cocaine and one felony count of selling heroin was indicted by Hillsboro County North Grand Jury last week. Amber Ford 25 is charged with one count of human trafficking in conjunction with Nathaniel Clarke, 36, of Hillsboro. Clarke is charged with nine counts of human trafficking for forcing three people to engage in sexual activity, between April 3 and May 7, by controlling their access to drugs and/or by confiscating identity documents. Ford also was indicted on felony theft for taking items valued at more than $1,000 from Macy’s.
Sunapee Select Board to Vote on Livery
The Sunapee Select Board will meet tonight at 7:00 pm tonight in the Town Office Meeting Room to vote of the sale of the Livery Building. The board has held two public hearings and the vote is to see if the Town of Sunapee will sell the building to the Sunapee Harbor Riverway for $1.00. The Riverway will pay taxes on the assessed valuation of the property.
New London Select Board to Vote on Rules of Procedure
The New London Select Board meets tonight at 6:00 pm, and one of the items on the agenda is to vote on or consider the Board of Selectmen Proposed Rules of Procedure. Residents can view the proposed rules of procedure on the town’s website.
