New Chief of Surgery Named by DHMC
wongDr. Sandra L. Wong has been named Surgery Chief at Dartmouth-Hitchcock and Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine. Dr. Wong is the William W Coon Collegiate Professor of Surgical Oncology and an Associate Professor of Surgery. Wong also serves as the Associate Chair for Clinical Affairs for the Department of Surgery and as an Associate Chief of Staff for the University of Michigan Hospital. She will begin her position at DHMC on October 26, 2015.
Dr. Wong will oversee 13 specialty sections within the Department of Surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. She will also be responsible for surgical care delivery across all Dartmouth-Hitchcock practice locations, regional affiliates and partner Accountable Care Organizations.

NH Men Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges
Hill Police arrested two men on multiple drug charges on Tuesday morning. Police say they responded to a call saying there were two men passed out from a possible overdose. After a multi agency response, Joseph L. Wilcox of Sutton NH and Eric Woods of Franklin were arrested on multiple counts of Possession of Heroin and Methamphetamine in addition to warrants from other agencies. Wilcox and Woods are being held on high cash bail after their arraignment in Merrimack County Jail after their arraignment on Tuesday morning. Wilcox’s bail is $32,000 and Woods bail is $13,000.

Braking System Blamed for Zipper Ride Accident
The investigation into the Zipper ride accident on August 21, 2015 has concluded. The NH State Fire Marshall’s Office says an investigation and inspection found a mechanical issue with the braking system not holding during the loading process.
A 28-year-old mother and her 8-year-old daughter from Canaan, NH, received minor injuries after a fall from the ride. A 23-year-old male, ride operator employed by Fanelli Amusement Company, also received minor injuries. All three were treated and released from local hospitals.
The Tramway and Amusement Ride Safety Inspectors consulted the ride manufacturer and Fanelli Amusement Company regarding the inspection of the ride. The Fanelli Amusement Company chose to return the ride to their maintenance facility for a thorough examination and repairs.

Springfield VT Police Seek Help with ATM Incident
Springfield VT police are seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects who allegedly destroyed an ATM on Wed. Police say the incident happened shortly after 3:30 am on Wednesday to a Citizens Bank ATM.. Any information on this crime or the suspects should call Detective Sergeant Patrick at 802-885-2113.
