15th Annual Fly In A Success
The 15th Annual Fly In at Parlin Field in Newport was well attended and the thunderstorms held off until late afternoon. However, the storm threat did cause one event to be cancelled according to Heath Marsden, airport manager.
Several hundreds of dollars were raised by the Boy Scouts from their pancake breakfast, and close to $700.00 raised for next year’s Aviation Career Education Academy. Marsden said the academy was a great partnership with the school and they hope to add a third year class to the program.
This year’s ACE academy in Newport hosted 42 students all in the first and second year of the program.
