Fugitive From Warner Arrested
sallycaptureFugitive from Justice Charles Sally, Jr., was arrested without incident in Lowell, Massachusetts on Friday. Members of the Lowell Police Department arrested Sally without incident. Sally had a last known address of Warner NH was being sought on an outstanding arrest warrant for a Parole Violation out of New Hampshire. Sally was on parole because of a conviction and sentence for 1st Degree Assault.

Cornish Holding Emergency School Board Meeting
The Cornish School Board is holding an emergency meeting on Monday, July 27, 6:30 P.M., at the Cornish Elementary School. The reason and only agenda item is declining enrollment its kindergarten programs. Current enrollment has decreased from five to four and the kindergarten aftercare program requires five students to cover costs.

NY Man Killed in I-91 Accident
Vermont State Police in Rockingham are investigating a single vehicle fatal motor vehicle crash on I-91 in Weathersfield. Police say McKayla Park 21 of Oneonta NY was travelling south when her 2000 Subaru Forester left the west side of the road, overturned and hit a tree. Park was taken to Springfield Hospital with injuries. A passenger, Trent Costello 22 of Kingston NY was pronounced dead at the scene. I-91 was closed for several hours for the crash investigation.

Volunteer Fire Department, Springfield Fire Department, West Weathersfield Volunteer Fire Department and the Agency of Transportation assisted the State Police.

NY Men Face Multiple Charges for Drugs
Two NY men are being held on multiple motor vehicle and drug charges after they were stopped for speeding on I-91 early Sunday morning. Vermont State Police say after they stopped Erik Polite 35 of Flushing NY for going up to 106 mph in Rockingham. During the stop officers, determined Polite had consumed intoxicants and put him in the cruiser. While Polite was in the cruiser with a trooper, passenger Leeshawn Baker 34, moved to the driver’s seat and began moving the vehicle in reverse. Baker crossed both NB lanes on I-91 in reverse before crashing into the median. Polite had a BAC of approximately 0.199% while Baker had a BAC of approximately 0.252%. Police also found 10 grams of cocaine on Polite, and after receiving a consent to search found 79 Oxycodone and approximately 50 Percocet pills along with a civil amount of marijuana in the vehicle. Polite and Baker were arrested and processed. Polite was issued a citation for DUI, Gross Negligent Operation, Excessive Speed, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Narcotic, Stimulant, Depressant. Baker was issued a citation for DUI, Gross Negligent Operation, Possession of Narcotic, Stimulant, Depressant. Polite is lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 bail and Baker is lodged at SSCF for lack of $2,500 bail.

Sunapee Man Charged with Domestic Assault
A Sunapee man was charged with Simple Assault, Domestic Violence, Resisting Arrest, and Acts Prohibited after police responded to a 911 call on July 22. Police say they were responded to an open line 911 and found there was a domestic disturbance. One of the parties involved had taken off into the woods. A New London Officer along with a State Police canine unit aided in the search. John Mayo 29 was found and processed at New London Hospital where he was being treated for a dog bite. He will appear on Oct. 6, in Newport Circuit Court.
