The Hartford VT Selectboard is seeking residents for an Ad Hoc Committee for citizens’ input for their 2016-2017 Budget. The committee will consist of 3-7 people and will work to survey citizens and work with the Hartford Solid Waste Committee regarding the Town wide Curbside Trash Collection Survey. The terms of this committee will be from July 21, 2015 – October 27 2015. New London to Honor Levine on Friday

New London will honor Jesse Levine, New London’s former Town Administrator with a Proclamation. The proclamation will name the Newport/County Road Round-About the Jessie W. Levine Roundabout this Friday, July 17. The event will be held on the New London Inn common from 4:30-6:00 pm with remarks at 5:15 pm. Levine was New London’s town administrator when the roundabout was constructed in 2009. Light refreshments will be served and members of the public will have an opportunity to see the plaque and congratulate Jessie. Levine is currently the Manager of Sullivan County.

Sunapee Man Receives Minor Injuries in Wilmot Crash

A Sunapee man received minor contusions after his Dodge Neon collided with a phone pole last night. NH State Police Officials say the accident occurred on North Wilmot Road in Wilmot and that speed was a contributing factor. NH Coop was called to repair the poll and the Dodge Neon had to be towed from the scene. The driver was taken to the hospital for his injuries and released.

Riverway Seeks to Buy Livery

Sunapee Harbor Riverway Corporation is the new future owner of the Harbor House Livery Building. Stuart Arnett of Better Future Alliance (BFA) made the announcement at Monday’s Sunapee Selectboard Meeting. BFA had a Memo of Understanding regarding the historic property that would have allowed them to purchase it for $1.00, save, and repurpose the building. Arnett said he was pleased the Sunapee Riverway agreed to become the new owner to pursue redevelopment and improvement to the Harbor area. The Sunapee Harbor Riverway Corporation was founded in 1992 to preserve and protect the unique lakeside harbor and owns ten properties in the harbor. There will be two public hearings on the purchase and approval of the conservation commission and the planning board before the purchase can go forward.
