Armed Robbery at Georges Mills Cottages
One man suffered minor injuries during an armed robbery at Georges Mills Cabins just before 12:30 am on Monday. Sunapee Police Chief David Cahill says the victim was awoke by a flash light shining in his eyes and Brandon A. Green 29, of New London was demanding cash. The victim was tied up and restrained and struck in the head with a handgun. Only cash was taken but Green broke his victim’s cell phone, MacBook, and iPad as well. Sunapee Police arrested Brandon A. Green without incident and he is due for arraignment in Newport District Court at 1pm today.
The victim was treated at New London Hospital. New London, and NH State Police assisted without incident . Police believe the robbery is an isolated incident as the suspect and victim knew each other and, therefore, there is no danger to the public.
Lebanon’s Parking Lot Closed for Relining
The lower parking lot B adjacent to Lebanon’s downtown mall is closed to traffic today and the upper parking lot A will be closed to traffic on Tuesday. The lots are being restriped to designate new parking layouts and circulations plans. For questions or concerns call Lebanon’s Department of public works at 448-3112.
NL Public Works Director Honored
The NH Road Agents Association awarded New London’s Public Works Director Richard Lee the honor of “NH Public Works Employee of the Year”. Lee was nominated by his staff.
Drug Bust in Tilton
Tilton Police raided a hotel just before midnight on Thursday and arrested two Tilton residents who police say were using hotels as part of an illegal drug sales operation. The arrests of Jeremy Roy, 25 and Tiffany Lemire, 33 come after a lengthy investigation into heroin and meth sales in the area.
Both were charged with Possession with the Intent to sell and held on $10,000 cash bail. They were scheduled to be arraigned in Franklin District Court on Friday.
Police also seized several bags of heroin and approximately six ounces of crystal meth, along with cutting agents, scales and several handguns, some real, some replicas. Detectives also seized two fire safes and several cell phones believed to be used in the sales operation.
Motorcycle Stolen from N.Springfield VT
Springfield VT Police are looking for information on the theft of motorcycle on Sunday afternoon. Police say A Yamaha XT on/off road black Yamaha XT motorcycle was stolen from the post roadside at the Stantec building in North Springfield sometime after 1 pm. Anyone with information should call the Springfield police department at 802-885-2113.
Newbury VT Woman Charged in Underage Drinking Party
A Newbury VT woman was charged with furnishing alcohol to minors after VT State Police answered a complaint of an underage drinking party just after 11 pm on Saturday. Police say upon arrival a large number of underage attendees fled into the woods under the instructions of an adult member of the party. The owner of the home 47-year-old Bonnie Brill refused to cooperate with police and advise them to leave.
Troopers conducted traffic stops and spoke with the teens who were drinking at the party or had witnessed the underage drinking. Police learned that about 20 individuals had fled when they arrived.
Brill was issued a citation on Sunday to appear in Orange County Court on July 19 to answer the charge.
