Windsor Murder Suspect Believed Dead
Vermont and Kansas law enforcement believe Jason Kendall of Windsor VT committed suicide Wednesday evening after a high-speed chase. Police say a man fitting Kendall’s description and driving a silver Honda Accord with stolen MA plates led police on a chase reaching over 100 mph on I-70 in Trego County KS. The chase began just before 6 pm after police tried to stop the car after receiving a Be On the Look Out (BOLO) from VT KS police used Stop Sticks to end the chase and the Accord left the highway. When officers approached the car, they found the lone occupant dead from a self-inflicted gunshot to his head.
Kendall was wanted on a warrant for the second-degree murder of his ex-girlfriend and mother of his son, Molly Helland 22 of Windsor. Vermont law enforcement has been searching for Kendall since the murder occurred early Monday morning. Kansas officials are processing the scene and the driver will be identified through an autopsy. Vermont State Police was notified of the incident just before 8 pm on Wednesday.
