Armed Robbery At N.Springfield Irving
Just after 7:30 pm on Wednesday, a masked male robbed the North Springfield Irving convenience store. Police say the man pointed a handgun at the cashier and obtained money before fleeing the store. The suspect is believed to be a white male about 5 foot 8, slender with dark hair. At the time, the man was wearing a green hoodie that had the word RICE printed on the front and dark pants. He was also wearing an animal mask.

Claremont Teen Indicted for Armed Robbery
On Wednesday, a Sullivan Grand Jury indicted a Claremont teen for the armed robbery of EZ Mart on Maple Avenue last Friday. Martinio Bailey 19 entered the store just after 11 pm, and allegedly brandished a knife while asking an employee to take him to where the money was kept in the store. After getting an undisclosed amount of cash Bailey then fled on foot and was arrested shortly afterwards. Bailey is facing 7 ½ – 15 years in jail and a $4,000.00 fine.
Storms Keep First Responders Busy
Thunderstorms that moved through the area last night caused down trees, electrical outages and house lightning strikes. Dartmouth’s main campus and residences in Lebanon lost power for several hours just after 5:30 pm after a tree took down power lines on Dunster Drive. Hanover reported 14 Power lines down /Tree on Wires, and three houses lightning strikes to houses. Canaan reported a downed tree blocking Canaan Street and Norwich VT Fire Department reported multiple trees and wires down on Bradley Hill road.
Stevens’ Pitcher – Makes History
Chase Hussey of Stevens High School pitched his third career varsity no-hitter Wednesday night. The Cardinals won the game 8-0 over Fall Mountain Wednesday night at Barnes Park. Chase becomes the first pitcher in Stevens’ history to pitch three no-hitters. In Claremont high school history, Rudy Fortin of St. Mary 1950-53 pitched four no hitters.
Cyber Safety Tonight At Abbott Library
The Abbott Library and the Sunapee Police Department are presenting “Cyber Safety” for parents of children and teens. The event is at Abbott Library in Sunapee at 6:30 pm tonight. Learn how to help keep students safe and learn tips for teaching them how to be good Cyber-Citizens. Chris Currier a New London Police Officer will make the presentation in conjunction with the Sunapee Police Department and the Abbott Library.
