Three Brooklyn NY men are charged with trafficking heroin and cocaine into VT, possession and traffic violations. Troopers from the Bradford Barracks say they captured 2014 Dodge Charger on Radar traveling 109 miles per hour on I-91 south in Bradford just after 12:30 Friday morning.. The Charger failed to yield for a short period before coming to a stop on the exit 16 off ramp. After being stopped, one of the passengers fled on foot and is still outstanding.
Troopers saw over 80 grams of cocaine in view and asked fro onsent to search the vehicle which was refused by the car’s owner. The State police seized the Charger for a search warrant.
As a result of the search warrant, more than 31 more grams of cocaine, 6.5 grams of heroin, a small amount of marijuana and approximately 1,200 new, unused glassine heroin bags were seized.
Charles Thomas was arrested and charged with Possession of Heroin, Trafficking Heroin, Transportation of Heroin into the State, Possession of Cocaine, Negligent Operation and Reckless Endangerment (3 Counts).
Lindsay Applewhite and Christopher Williams were also arrested for the above violations with the exception(s) of Negligent Operation and Reckless Endangerment.
All three were lodged at the Northeast Regional Correctional Center in St. Johnsbury for lack of $50,000.00 bail. They are scheduled to appear in Orange County Superior Court on 05/15/15 at 1230 hours.
State Police are still looking to identify the passenger who had fled. He is described as a black male, approximately 6′ tall, weighing approximately 145 pounds. He had short dark hair and was wearing gray or silver gym shorts, a gray hooded sweatshirt and sneakers.
