NMHS Art Show
Students from Newport Middle and High School will be displaying their talents at the Library Arts Center in Newport. The school’s biennial art exhibits opens this Friday, Mar. 27 from 4-6 pm. The exhibit features students’ work from grades 7-12. Many of the students were juried into the Ava Gallery exhibit last month like Shaylah Genest. Genest became interested in welding after her guidance counselor suggested she take the course as an elective. Shaylah took an artistic approach to welding and created a Nightmare Before Christmas Table. The students’ works of art will be on display until April 23.
